Questions
Why isn't my location working?
Usually your phone's privacy settings. Phones keep a separate setting for web browsers, so Google Maps can be spot on while the browser is given only a rough area. Here's where to check:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → your browser (Safari Websites, or Chrome) → While Using the App, with Precise Location on.
- Android: Settings → Location → App permissions → your browser → allow while in use, with Use precise location on.
Then reload Tap Watch and tap Use my location again. If it's still out, enter a postcode instead: it works just as well, and often better indoors.
Can I keep Tap Watch on my home screen?
Yes, and it's the quickest way in. It opens like an app, with no address bar.
- iPhone or iPad: open Tap Watch in Safari, tap the share button at the bottom, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open Tap Watch in Chrome, tap the three dots, then Add to Home screen.
How up to date are the lists?
Each beer shows when someone last checked it: green within 8 weeks, amber up to 6 months, grey after that. Pubs change their taps often, so treat an old date as a maybe. A 👍 from you at the bar updates it on the spot.
A beer is missing, or the list is wrong
Open the pub and use Submit a beer, or Send photos of the taps. Everything is checked by a person before it appears. Photos count from the day they were taken, so an older photo won't make a pub look freshly checked.
Why are some pubs empty?
Because nobody has been in yet. Tap Watch is new and the lists are filled in pub by pub.
